Massage is Not a Luxury. It’s a Necessity.

And we’re not just saying that because it feels good.

Today Only: $45 for 60-Minute Massage ($90 Value)

At bodyFi, we’re firm believers in the many health benefits of massage. There have been tons of research performed to back this up, but in a nutshell:

• Massage increases lymph flow in normal tissue and increases venous blood flow

• Your nervous system can be stimulated or sedated, depending on the type of massage you get

• Massage tends to decrease anxiety and tension.

• Massage stretches tissues and positively effects certain types of scar tissue

• It can relieve spasm and cramps, and increase range of motion

bodyFi offers three types of massage. Each is distinctive in style and comes with its own set of benefits. And each is available either in our studio or in the comfort of your own home. You can also get a chair massage for focused attention on the back and shoulders when you don’t have a lot of time.

Swedish/Sports Massage

Swedish massage is performed with deep, circular movements and percussion and is probably one of the more popular modalities. Sports massage is very similar to Swedish, but is adapted specifically to the needs of athletes (or athletic people) and incorporates stretching.

Deep Tissue/NMT

Deep tissue massage and neuromuscular therapy (NMT, also known as trigger point massage) focuses on muscle “knots” that are painful when pressed. These can even cause symptoms elsewhere in the body, in places called satellite trigger points. These are no-nonsense massages that you really feel.

Reflexology

In reflexology, pressure is applied to the feet,  hands, or ears with specific techniques and no oil or lotion. It’s based on a system of zones and reflex areas on the feet and hands that correspond to particular areas of the body. Try it. Who doesn’t like a nice foot massage?
